Backpacking Without Getting Hairy
Dear Ayla,
I’m planning a backpacking trip through Europe this summer with my fiancé and we want to pack as lightly as possible. We’re want to do some hiking through the Alps and lots of camping. We may even just pitch a tent out in the wild if they’ll let us. We’ve also got our eye on a few beaches in France and Italy that we’d like to see. Basically we hope to see as much as we can while we’re here but we’d still rather see a few nice places versus 100 cities in 20 days, or some crazy tour like that.
Although we’re going to be roughing it quite a bit, I’m not even considering letting my leg hair or armpits go wild. No way would I go to the beach looking like a furry beast (even though the say Europeans aren’t always avid shavers). My fiancé is also a bit fanatic about keeping his face shaved; especially during the summer.
So the question is, what sort of products are out there that we could take with us? Is there something that we might be able to use without water or that could be easily wiped, instead of washed, off?

I can certainly understand your desire to keep your list of toiletries as light as possible while traveling.
